Judicial Research and Training Institute Steering Committee
Function and Membership
- Clause 1 of Article 74-5 of the Court Organization Act stipulates the maintenance of a steering committee in the capacity of evaluation of the nature and means of the judicial training provided by the Judicial Research and Training Institute, as well as compliance with any administrative and training requirements set forth by the Supreme Court of Korea.

Clause 2 of Article 74 of the Court Organization Act stipulates that such a steering committee comprises 10 to 15 members appointed by the Chief justice of Korea, with each committee member serving for a term of 2 years with the possibility of re-appointment for a second consecutive term.
- Members are appointed from among legal professionals with internal or external ties to the Court of Korea, and from other sectors including academia, economy, media, and civil society.
- The Steering Committee of the Judicial Research and Training Institute convenes at least once a year to evaluate basic plans and key issues pertaining to the operation and development of the Judicial Research and Training Institute, and the execution of its academic programs, including judicial apprenticeship.
