On September 4 (Wed), a five-member delegation from Peru, including Johnny Manuel Cáceres Valencia, a member of the Judicial Council of Peru, visited the Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) as part of a judicial capacity-building initiative. The delegation’s visit was part of the KOICA-sponsored “Capacity Building Program for Strengthening Community Response to Gender-Based Violence through Empowering Peace Judges in Peru,” a project carried out in collaboration with the Peruvian judiciary, executive branch, and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) Peru.

During their visit, the delegation attended presentations on the development of the Korean justice system in gender-related areas, victim assistance in criminal proceedings, and the handling of family and child protection cases. These sessions provided practical examples of how Korea addresses and supports victims of gender-based violence. The visit not only allowed the delegation to explore Korea’s advancements in gender-related judicial systems but also strengthened international cooperation in improving community responses to gender-based violence, making it a truly meaningful and impactful experience for the participants.
