The International Judicial Cooperation Center (IJCC) of the Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) conducted a Judicial Capacity Building Program for the Philippines from 10 May (Sat) to 18 May (Sun), 2025, under the theme “Advancing Justice Through Judicial Informatization.” The program, which focused on online civil and criminal trials, electronic litigation, and digital legal libraries, was attended by ten judges from the judiciary of the Philippines.
The Philippines, recognized as a developing country with well-established judicial capacity, has fostered mutual trust with the judiciary of Korea through its participation in previous multinational training sessions held in 2008 and 2009. In the recent program, advanced electronic systems currently adopted by the Korean courts were introduced. This initiative is considered to have contributed to the enhancement of the international stature of the Korean judiciary through global judicial cooperation.
