A delegation of the Supreme Court of Singapore, led by Chief Justice Sundaresh Menon, along with H.E. Mr. Eric Teo and two diplomats from the Singaporean Embassy in Seoul, paid an official visit to the Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Chief Justice Menon and the visiting officials held a meeting with the President of JRTI and subsequently received an official tour of the institute’s facilities. The Singaporean representatives engaged in discussions on judicial exchanges between Korea and Singapore, reaffirming the importance of bilateral cooperation in international judicial affairs. The delegation also examined ongoing collaborative initiatives between the International Judicial Cooperation Center (IJCC) of JRTI and foreign judicial institutions, reflecting on the achievements of sustained judicial exchange efforts. Additionally, the two sides explored strategies to enhance cooperation between the judicial training institutions of the two nations: JRTI and SJC (Singapore Judicial College)
At IJCC, the visiting officials were briefed on Korea’s judicial cooperation projects, which have been led by JRTI. They also viewed footage from the 11th IOJT conference, which was successfully held last year. The Singaporean delegation acknowledged Korea’s growing role as a hub for international judicial training and cooperation. Upon the completion of their visit, the delegation expressed their deepest appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by JRTI.
